Marcella Mitroff

Instructor

Marcella Mitroff (Marcie) has studied dance for the past thirty years, and is well versed in styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, and Musical Theater. She has taken part in many regional dance competitions, and theater productions in New Jersey and New York City.

 

After graduating high school she

studied Dance at The University of The Arts (Philadelphia PA) and then went on to graduate cum laude from Montclair State University (Montclair NJ). There she received her BFA in Dance and minor in Musical Theater. In college Marcella worked and performed with many different companies such as Jose Limon, Paul Taylor, Martha Graham, Larry Keigwin, Earl Mosley and more.

 

While attending the American College Dance Festival Marcella was selected to perform at the Joyce Theater in New York City as part of the Martha Graham College showcase. Here she studied and performed with long time company member Elizabeth Auclair.

 

Marcella has performed as a Production Cast Principal for Norwegian Cruise Line under directors such as Rachelle Rak, Patti Wilcox, Tiger Martina and Ricky Whitfield. While working for Norwegian she assisted and performed for magician Charles Bach and was part of the inaugural cast of "Havana" a new musical created and choreographed by Warren Carlyle.

 

Recent credits include "West Side Story" (Performance Riverside), and "Singing in The Rain" (Redlands Bowl), "On Your Feet" (Moonlight Amphitheater), "Magical Jamul Holiday" (Jamul Casino) and "Something Rotten" (Moonlight Amphitheater). 

 

Marcella has been a part of the On Pointe Staff since 2015 and is very excited to continue to share her love for dance and the performing arts with all of her students!
